Fawn Mckay
Fawn MCK Brodie was born on September 15th, 1915 in Ogden Utah. Fawn McKay, brought up in the Mormon Church's First Family utilized her writing talent as well as research abilities to create the fascinating psycho-historical biographical biography of Joseph Smith. Published in 1945, under the name"No Man Knows My History, she used both. The title of this book was in response to a funeral address delivered in 1844 by Church of Latter-Day Saints founder, Joseph Smith. In his sermon, he declared: "You do not know who I am and have never seen my heart." Nobody has heard of my life. The truth is, I don't know. The 29-year-old wrote Fawn in this moment of honesty, about three dozen writers have jumped on the gauntlet. Many have abhorred him and some have praised. Few have made a diagnosis. It's not that documents aren't there, it's that they are so contradictory. It is a matter of separating personal testimony from third party plagiarism and fitting Mormon-and non-Mormon-narratives into a mosaic of credible historical facts.
