April Ross is only one of the beach volleyball players to have won medals at least twice in an Olympics. In Tokyo over the next several days, she'll be aiming to claim her third Olympic medal with fellow the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross hopes to win more than just her first Olympic medal. Since she's 39 years old she could have her last chance. Her confidence is high, however. If we do our highest or play well I feel like we can get that gold medal Ross stated on NBC Boston. "I'm also going to try some luck." Ross was born in 1982 and was raised in Costa Mesa California with her siblings and parents, started playing the sports of Newport Harbor High school. Also, she coached Klineman and herself. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be strong on the international circuit, winning the 2009 World Championship with each other. This duo went on to win a silver in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. The Misty Maytreanor legendary team along with Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. In 2000, as a freshman she played her way to Pac-10 as well as NCAA All-American Freshman of Year honors and earned an All-American. The Trojans could also get to the Final Four with her help. She endured a great personal loss during her sophomore year, but was still capable of achieving the All-American distinction.
