Anna Paquin has been an actress across Canada and New Zealand for over a decade. Paquin is a native of New Zealand, born in Wellington but born and raised in Winnipeg was first seen in the acting world on screen in The Piano. In response to an open audition call to play the character, she got it as Flora McGrath, the daughter of an mute Scottish pianist who relocates into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to be married. It was her first role at the age of nine years old and did not have any prior experience in acting. As a teenager, she made the move to America. She played teenagers on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) and portrayed the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
